Back in the early 1900's, building contractors and architects took into consideration the design and selection of every detail that went into building a home. Three important changes that have radically effected the operation of a typical building are: the extensive use of thermal insulation, the development of tighter houses, and the popular use/over use of forced air heating and cooling systems. Air conditioning was not yet invented and careful consideration was needed for the placement of the house on the lot, location of windows, arrangement of living spaces, and selection of materials. This was done to take full advantage of keeping the house cool or warm from the natural environment. Houses were not constructed very tight and "air exchange" in the house was quite high. With the invention of air conditioning, the construction design and techniques changed dramatically. It was not necessary to take the time to build the house as a "system". The air conditioner could now keep your house cool and warm no matter where it was put or designed like. Energy was still inexpensive, houses were built tighter, and now you could live anywhere because you could control your indoor environment. As years have progressed with even tighter housing and more of a selection of man made materials, new problems have risen. People started to take notice of allergies and asthma problems being more prevalent. Indoor air quality was diminishing with so many new man made materials that "off gas" into the home. Energy costs are continually rising causing greater monthly expenditures. So called "Mc Mansions" where pretty and impressive but now costly to keep up and not really designed as a livable house. People started to see the benefits of building a house that creates both environmental and economic value while at the same time a more enjoyable place to live.

LiveWell Homes understands the significance of protecting the environment now and for future generations. Our homes are constructed with products that help reduce overall waste and preserve natural resources. We produce sturdier, stronger, and quieter homes through the use of engineered systems and recycled materials that lower overall utility costs while raising the level of comfort and efficiency.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY
Our Homes meet Energy Star Rating requirements. Low E rated windows reduce the amount of heat radiating through the glass surface. We seal all duct work permanently making your new LiveWell Home more comfortable and efficient. Insulated garage doors reduce the transfer of heat or cold air into your garage. 13 seer A/C units have higher heating and cooling efficiency; reducing overall energy consumption. Electric Heat helps decrease emissions while avoiding fluctuating costs of fossil fuels.

INDOOR AIR QUALITY
Electric Heat also creates a cleaner environment both indoors and outdoors. Insulated air ducts control condensation, eliminate leaks, and improve performance and air quality. Clean air ventilation system pulls fresh air from outside and circulates it throughout your home.

NATURAL RESOURCES
We use engineered floor systems made from wood chips rather than single cut timbers. This reduces the amount of wood use by 50% and as a result, decreases environmental impact. Recycled insulation saves landfill space, eases strain on natural resources, and reduces pollutants emitted during the manufacturing process. Wood construction debris is recycled into mulch rather than dumped in landfills.

WATER CONSERVATION
Low flow fixtures save water that would otherwise be wasted, not only reducing your utility bill, but also the amount of available fresh water used.
